Maintenance Technician, Helper - DAYS
Position Summary:
Polymer Industries, Nytef Division is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician, Helper. This position will be responsible for providing assistance to the Maintenance Technician Lead to achieve optimal levels of productivity, quality and safety to assure internal and external customer satisfaction. The successful candidate must also demonstrate a willingness to learn and eventually achieve a higher level of job-based knowledge. Essential Duties and responsibilities include the following (Other duties may be assigned):
• Assist in troubleshooting, repair, and maintain facility systems.
• Perform work based on dispatched service or daily/weekly work schedules.
• Perform repairs, modifications, and preventative maintenance on buildings and facilities, equipment, fixtures, and systems, as directed by the Maintenance Technician Lead.
• The ability to read and interpret blue prints, schematics and one-line drawings is desired.
• Read and interpret data associated with reliability of facility equipment.
• Comply with established safety and environmental procedures.
• Be flexible to adjust to changing conditions and work holidays, and weekends as required.
• Maintain a team environment.
• Maintain high quality service.
• Assist in maintaining production equipment in optimal operating condition.
• Assist assigned cell/area in trouble shooting and repairing equipment, as directed.
• Assist in assuring proper inventory levels of required replacement parts for cell/area equipment.
• Follow all prescribed internal and manufacturer maintenance procedures, as assigned.
• Assist in implementing process improvement changes as required.
Must have some experience or job knowledge in some of the following areas:
• Electrical systems, including 480V/240V and similar standard voltages
• Hydraulics systems
• Pneumatics systems
• Some operational knowledge of sheet extruders, ram extruders, compression molding
• CNC machines and controls
Physical Requirements:
• Communicate in written and verbal English, face to face, in group meetings and via phone.
• Move and/or lift light to medium weight materials up to 50 lbs.
• Climb or stand on extension ladders, roof ladders, stepladders, and stairs, lifts, or aerial booms, to bend, stoop, squat, or kneel repetitively and to maneuver in low or narrow spaces.
• Work indoors and outdoors during all seasons, walk or stand on hard, soft, flat, irregular surfaces or terrain.
• Cope with demands (stressors) that are associated with the job and/or the work environment so that acceptable levels of performance and overall contribution are maintained.
• Ability to wear personal protective safety equipment (harnesses, respirators, glasses, ear plugs, etc.).
